Hi, we're Karin and Kimberly, two very blessed and busy moms who know what it's like to not have enough time in a day to get everything accomplished, let alone eat well and enjoy family time at our own dinner tables. We started
Home Appétit because we wanted to help recreate the family tradition of eating dinner together. We want families (including ours) to have the opportunity to reconnect with each other at the end of the day to share how their day went.
As we looked into opening a meal preparation business, we considered the option of buying a franchise or opening an independent store of our own. After careful consideration we decided we wanted the freedom to develop our own recipes that are tried & true family favorites. We wanted to be able to offer services that our customers were asking for. We also wanted to design a kitchen space where our customers could feel at home and comfortable while preparing their meals. For all of these reasons we believe Home Appétit will feel like your second kitchen, where dinner begins in our kitchen but ends in yours.
A little more about the owners and staff…
is a founding partner of Home Appétit. With a husband that travels, two boys that are active in sports, and a successful home based business, cooking isn't high on Kimberly's list of things to do. However, when her boys stopped asking "What's for dinner?" and instead, started asking, "Where are we going for dinner?" she knew she needed to make a change. Having done the once a month cooking plan on her own, Kimberly was already sold on the concept of preparing meals ahead of time and freezing them. What she didn't like was the day it took to create her family's menu and grocery shop. And the day it took to slice, dice, cut, & prepare all the ingredients. And then the day it took to clean up and recover from the previous two days. Kimberly knew she wasn't the only person dealing with the dinner dilemma and knew that Home Appétit would not only help her family, but plenty of other families as well.

is also
a founding partner of Home Appétit. With her Bachelor's degree in Marketing Management, it fit perfectly that she would handle the day-to-day operations of the business. As a wife and mother of two girls, Karin believes every mom's challenge is to find quality time for her family to spend together every day. She found that when she made and froze her dinners in advance for the month she was able to enjoy more time with her family and still provide a good meal at the end of the day. Her desire is for Home Appétit to be able to help other families find their way back to the dinner table around a healthy meal. Since she loves to cook and try new recipes, she is also overseeing the recipe development process.

is responsible for the majority of the recipe development at Home Appétit as well as the creation of our signature sauces and marinades. She also hand cleans all of our meat and prepares the various other ingredients used by our customers in the assembly of their meals. She recently graduated from Johnson and Wales University in Charlotte, NC with a Culinary Arts degree and has a catering business that she runs on the side while not working at Home Appétit.
